Last day of Jury Duty.....trial finally ended, whoo hoo!!! 

To thank us for our time, we were taken out to lunch by the Sheriff. Went to this Vietnamese Restuarant in Oakland near the court house. This restuarant gave me nothing but surprises. First our menu was especially created for us Jury, next an awesome Carrot soup, which I had never had or seen, and lastly, the best for last, a heated toilet seat with rear and front option cleansing! I gotta get me one of these!

First time meeting Ricky's BFF. As you can see Rick was his protector back in the day. 

Went to a comedy club and then to a bar named Whiskey's. Yes we were in the country! Bar filled with smoke, cigarette vending machine in the corner, dart boards and billiards in the back. Good times!

Dinner with some friends tonight at this amazing house they were house-sitting. This house had a Sauna, steam room, ,massage room, huge TV room with movie posters around the room (which we thought was there theater room) but oh no, the next room had a huge projector screen with 2 rows of individual recliners with there own blankets and pillows. Also in the room, a candy bar! Just like the theaters! They had a wine cellar, hot tub, huge grill which also had a beer tap! And last but definitely not least, a helicopter pad! All this in Hayward!

Dinner with the girls tonight, Nicole & Nikki! Had a cocktail or two in honor of my dad's birthday. New favorite happy hour restaurant...Macaroni Grill!! $2.99 small plate meals and very very good wine options! 3pm to close M-F....can't go wrong with that! Thanks Nikki for introducing me to this fine dining! :-)

Saw a rainbow on my drive to the courthouse for Jury Duty today...shortly after got caught in a hail storm which was a forecast to my day at court! What a looooooong process this has been....finally got a selection of jurors and but of course I got selected. The very last person to get called up and questioned. Just my luck! I finally get to the end of the rainbow and find nothing but an angry old man who selected me to be one of his jurors.

I had the intention of cooking my valentine Dinner, but when I got home, I got to do nothing but relax! It was a wonderful wonderful evening. Ricky ended up making the dinner....Filet Mignon with a creamy garlic shrimp sauce. It was sooo yummy!

My Valentine surprised me early!!! He came home and surprised me with a bouquet of roses, a card with a sweet letter inside and he even wrote me a poem, which started with "Roses are red, Violets are blue..." :-) and he cooked me dinner tonight. I love my Valentine! :-)

Another day at the courts...and still no selection of Jurors, will be back tomorrow, JOY!

On a positive note, I saw this poster at the courthouse and it reminded me of my time with the CASA program. I was able to speak to someone today who was interested in the program. Hopefully I encouraged him to look into it further. It is such a wonderful program for our communities and foster children and would recommend this opportunity to anyone.

Sunday, February 6, 2011 ~~Superbowl Sunday! 


As you can tell buy our football jerseys we were definitely into the superbowl this year. Not quite sure who was even playing...but I do know gthat Christina Aguilera messed up the words to our National Anthem...and that Black Eyed Peas were awesome! I did enjoy the Doritos commercials...but must say the commercial advertisements were not up to par to previous years. All and all...this Sunday was fun to spend time with my good friend Leila!

I bet with a friend that Spain would go all the way...and on Friday that friend paid his dues! :-) I will be sporting this soon at the Mexico vs. Paraguay game in March. 3 more years until next World Cup in Brazil....which I will def be going to!

We had a fun evening at Buca di Peppo celebrating Mom's bday. Lots of food, Chianti, and laughs. Grandma told us Mom's life story from the day she was born. We consumed lots of Chianti during this time. :-) Love you mom! We learned that my grandparents were not as creative with her name, Rosemarie, as we thought; at the time she was born, they were living on Rose St.
